Because of its low price, the Greddy TD06SH turbo kit for the MR2 Turbo and Celica GT-4 is a popular upgrade. Unfortunately, the oil drain they provide is very poor at best, and downright dangerous at worst! The oil drain that comes with the Greddy kit is a simple piece of rubber hose, and it passes dangerously close to the hot downpipe. To make matters worse, the hose they provide is not rated for hot oil service, and it quickly fails. When it fails, the hot oil pours over the hot downpipe, and has caused several car fires. If it does not cause a fire, the oil pours onto the ground, and can run the car out of oil! Neither one of these situations is a pleasant one, and that is the reason we developed this replacement oil drain system. The Speed-Source TD06 oil drain is a one-piece CNC bent tube, silver brazed to a CNC machined stainless flange. Silver brazing is well know for its extreme vibration resistance, and will far outperform a welded assembly. The end of the tube is swaged to the ID of the stock pan elbow, and is has a rolled hose retention bead. The entire drain is painted black, and comes with a new gasket for the turbo. Full instructions are included to ease installation. This is a small price to pay for the safety of your engine! This may or may not fit the packaging of aftermarket TD06 kits.
