The engine in the Celica and the MR2 are supported by 4 engine mounts.

The transmission end and timing belt end mounts support the full weight of the drive train, while the front and rear mounts control the torque produced by the engine. With age, heat, and possibly a little more power than Toyota intended, these front and rear mounts can deteriorate over time and allow the engine to move too much under acceleration and engine braking.

A hard launch can lurch the engine back and forth violently, and reduce the amount of power actually transmitted to the ground.

The Speed-Source Polyurethane Engine Mount Kit is engineered to replace the stock rubber front and rear mounts with solid polyurethane. A steel insert keeps the poly mounts centered and locates the thru-bolt. With this kit installed, the car will be more responsive to throttle input, launch more effectively, and the LSD will engage more reliably.

Included in the kit are 4 polyurethane bushings, 2 metal inserts, and fully illustrated instructions. These mounts will fully replace the old rubber and metal mounts, not merely fill the holes in them. The polyurethane mounts are commercially formulated, poured, and post-cured, and the metal inserts are zinc-dichromate plated for corrosion resistance...

These will give years of trouble free service. In our testing, this formulation of polyurethane will transmit some vibrations into the cabin. It is most evident at idle.

NOTE *If you have an MKII MR2 with an NA -> Turbo Swap completed, please make sure you order the polyurethane mounts based on which engine mounts you used to complete the swap… either the 2 NA mounts, or the 2 turbo mounts - THANKS!
