Replacing the factory intercooler piping can be a great way to gain some efficiency. The stock piping is usually engineered for cost savings and ease of manufacture, not absolute performance. For this reason, the stock piping usually has more rubber hose than it should, and is packaged into the engine bay as an afterthought. Rubber hose in the intercooler pipe system is not ideal, and will expand under heat and pressure causing a loss of boost pressure and efficiency. Simply turning up the boost will NOT regain these losses! Add a few years of use, and the stock rubber hoses should be replaced. The Speed-Source Supra Intercooler Piping Kits are designed to reduce the amount of rubber hosing to an absolute minimum, and have been shown to provide as much as 2 psi increase in boost pressure!

The MKIII Supra Turbo lower intercooler piping kit replaces the 2 rubber lower pipes and aluminum elbow with a one-piece CNC bent 2-inch tube. The ends have a hose retention bead formed onto the ends to prevent the hoses from blowing off. Included in the kit are 2 short couplers to connect to the turbo and intercooler, 4 stainless worm drive clamps are included. The pipe also features a rubber isolation mount, which mounts to the frame to provide some additional support. The pipe is painted gloss black. The stock rubber hoses from Toyota are $95.63 and $113.92 each list, so the Speed-Source piping kit is a bargain!
