Mitsubishi Evolution VIII & IX Lower Intercooler Pipe The Mitsubishi Evolution VIII and IX are great cars with a lot of potential! One place you can gain power is by replacing the stock lower intercooler pipe with a Speed Source solid intercooler pipe. The stock lower piping system uses small diameter tubing and a lot of flexible rubber. This rubber expands under boost, to the detriment of performance. The Speed Source lower intercooler piping kit remedies this by using appropriately sized tubing, and a minimum of rubber to connect the turbo to the pipe. Other kits in the aftermarket use 2 pipes and a rubber coupler in the middle, because they do not have the ability to make it one piece. This extra connection in the middle costs you power! We have used our extensive manufacturing knowledge to develop a pipe that is ONE-PIECE and smoothly transitions sizes, eliminating the extra coupler! The piping is CNC madrel bent from thin-gauge mild steel, then formed and TIG welded. The pipe is bead-rolled for hose retention, and painted in a gloss black. All hardware is included!
