Replacing the 1.6 liter 4AGE engine in the 85'-89' Toyota MR2 with the turbocharged 2.0 liter 3SGTE engine is a great upgrade. The resulting car has been called the "MK1.5", and is very popular. To accomplish this engine conversion, the stock left and right engine mounts must be cut off the car, and new mounts fabricated and welded to the frame. New front and rear engine mounts also have to be fabricated, painted, and installed as well. If the mounts are not welded in the exact right position, the new engine will not fit properly. This engine mount kit is manufactured to fit perfectly, and the weld fixture locates the mounts for precise welding. The front and rear mount kit is a direct bolt on to the 85'-89' chassis and 3SGTE engine/trans, and uses our polyurethane engine mounts. Speed-Source was the first to mount the 3SGTE engine in a way such that there is no need for firewall modification. With these conversion parts, you will have the perfect engine position, and will save hours of tedious cutting, grinding, and cursing. Included in the left and right engine mount kit are two CNC laser cut and bent engine mounts, fully illustrated instructions, and use of the weld fixture for 5 days. The mounts have 12mm nuts welded to one side, just like a factory mount. The drivers side mount also has a nut welded to it for mounting the main engine ground. There is a $500 deposit on the weld fixture, which will be completely refunded upon its safe return. The cash value of the fixture is $2500. We suggest being ready to weld in the mounts before you request the fixture, as you will really only need it for a few hours. The fixture comes shipped in a custom container. Shipping the fixture to and from your location is at your cost, but we make the arrangements and furnish a call tag for return shipping. Most locations it is under $60 both ways. Included in the front and rear mount kit are 3 metal mounts, one for the front frame, one for the rear frame, and one to bolt to the transmission. The mounts are CNC laser cut, bent, and welded. They are painted black. The rubber in the mounts is our polyurethane kit for the MKII turbo.
