V6 Supercharged MR2

If you ever want to hear more stories about this car, feel free to contact Carl @ cacrawfo@speed-source.net
This is an extremely custom 88' Toyota MR2. Instead of the 1.6 liter 4 cylinder, it has a 98' GM 3.8 liter supercharged V6! This engine has been further modified with a cold air intake, K and N filter, undersized supercharger pulley, and custom exhaust. The engine puts out 280HP at over 300lb/ft of torque! It is mated to the smooth shifting 4T65E 4-speed automatic transmition, and has lock-up torque converter. This engine/trans combo has so much low-end grunt, you just point the car in the right direction and pray! My one and only trip to the drags brought a 13.3 at over 102 MPH, and that was directly after coming off the highway from a 11 hour drive! This car is a blast to drive on highway, as it only turns 1500rpm or so at cruising speeds..... In town, the car is a stoplight warrior.. it can burn the tires with AUTHORITY! I have never had any maintenance trouble, as the donor car had only 9,000 miles on it! The battery is in the front trunk, and is a Optima gel-cell.
The car started as a base-model (NA) so the insurance is cheap! I own the car free and clear on a clean Illinois title.
The body and interior has also been tastefully modified. The hood has an all-steel scoop that is fully functional, it leads to the radiator surround. The front air dam is a fiberglass unit from FX designs, and has fog lights in the openings. The headlights are custom low-rise, and only open about 2 inches. (they do retract normally) The door handles have been shaved, and open with remote control. There is a fool-proof safety back-up system. The engine and trunk lid are now one piece, and are held up by gas struts, perfect for showing off the engine and sound system! The entire car is RUST-FREE and painted MKII MR2 Solar Yellow. Yes, rust-free...... There is no wing on the car right now, but I will include one if you like.
The interior is grey sportcloth, and the car has T-tops. The speedo has been replaced by an autometer ultralight, and there is a boost and fuel pressure gauge in a custom yellow pod on the dash. The clock has been replaced by an injector duty cycle and air/fuel ratio meter. The climate control and stereo location have been switched so that the CD is easier to get to.... There is one crack in the dash where the clock opening is. T-top shades and bags are included. Power windows and mirrors, doors have no locks as the handles are shaved..... The storage case behind the center console has been removed in favor of a 2 lb fire extinguisher.
There is a very nice stereo in the car. It has won several local stereo competitions, as well as the one at the MR2 SE2001 meet. The head unit is an old Eclipse CD player, and the amp is an Extant 3300c with built in crossover. The front speakers are MB Quart 3way with 6" lows, 4" mids, and tweets. This set was over $1,000 new! The 6's are in a custom enclosure on the door, while the 4 and tweet are in the stock location. For subs, there is a 10" Phoenix Gold X-Max under each seat... Yes, UNDER the seat! Needless to say, it kicks you in the butt! You have 10"s, and can store the T-tops! The amp is in the rear trunk, and it is finished out in black carpet. Also a 1/2 farad stifening cap...
Suspension: The car has 15" Borbet type M wheels with Toyo FZ-1 tires. Tokico struts with Eibach springs, and the alignment and balance of the setup is perfect. I have never owned another MR2 that felt as solid at HIGH speeds as this one. There is NO steering wheel shake! There is a ST sway bar in the front. Brake pads are aftermarket, and the rotors are cross drilled.
In conclusion, this is a tastefully modified STREET car that starts and runs every time, will go cross-country comfortably, and can embarass and surprise a lot of other cars.... And it looks good! Keep in mind as you bid that this car is RUST-FREE!
